Transforming Bruce Banner into The Incredible Hulk

Today Superhero movies are the top performers in the box office, video game are a billion dollar industry, and I Fucking Love Science has over 19 million likes on Facebook. It seems like long gone are the days of the stereotypical nerds. Everyone seems to have at least a little nerdism in them. Whether it be the movies and shows you watch, the posts you share, or the books you read, nerds are everywhere.

It’s a common misconception that nerds are all either scrawny or obese asthmatics, who eat nothing but fast food and drink immense amounts of energy drinks. Well, I’m here to tell you that this is not true! I’ve been a nerd my entire life, and at age 22 (I’m 28 now) I decided to take action with my physical appearance.

I know it’s easier said than done, and if you are someone who is not physically active it might be hard for you to kick it into gear. What helped me was to focus on the end result and treat my fitness goals just like something I’m good at……. Video Games!

Your body is your progression. Your workouts, a new level up. You treat your body like this and in no time you’ll be at that level 50 prestige. Working out doesn’t have to be a hassle. Here’s a couple of apps/workouts to help make working out fun for you along this journey:

1. Zombies, Run

About: Zombies, Run is a running app meets a free to play building game. It has been featured on Gamespot, Wired, LifeHacker, and Runner’s World. The premise is this: you go for a run, plug your headphones into your phone. You can run to your own music while the app talks to you. “Run faster the zombies are catching up!” “You just picked up a healthkit”…. you get the picture. After your run you can view your route via GPS and you’ll be able to see what items you have picked up. Use your items to help build your up your base. It’s as addicting as a “free” to play game except instead of spending money, you go for a run.
