Trick or Treat
It’s the most anticipated show I look forward to every week, and rightfully so. The Flash continues to prove why it’s one of (if not the) best shows on TV. Among a continually gripping storyline, we got Mark Hamill making an appearance as The Trickster.
Hamill’s talent did not go to waste, as he was possibly the best villain we’ve seen on the show thus far (minus maybe Wells.) Hami’l uses a protege Trickster in order to break out of prison and and cause havoc all over Central City. The episode was filled with Easter eggs, including a Star Wars “I am your father” line when Hamill confesses to his young protege why he had chosen him as his sidekick. Well played CW… well played.
It’s more apparent than ever now that the show is building up The Rogues. We had mention to it in last episode, now another rogue makes his appearance. It seems the only rogue missing right now is Mirror Master. If the show follows its comic book lore, look for Grodd to bust out all of the rogues to make Barry’s life a living hell. We probably won’t be seeing this is season one, but I wouldn’t doubt to see it in season 2.
After months of speculation, the history of Dr Wells is revealed a little more. We’ve heard theory after theory… Dr Wells is Eddie, Dr. Wells is Barry, Dr Wells is a different Reverse-Flash, and the list goes on. Finally we are treated to some flashbacks of Dr Wells… the REAL Dr. Wells. Turns out Eobard Thawne had a device to steal Well’s likelihood. So now we have Thawne posing as Wells in order to create the particle accelerator in hopes to get back to his own time. Tons of questions are still in the air. What happened to future Barry since he travelled through time as well? Why didn’t Thawne just kill kid Barry? The show has been very well with filling in plotholes and I’m sure most will be explained in the coming weeks.
Iris is still asking questions about the disappearance of Mason Bridge. Barry and Joe know something is up with Wells and they both know he had something to do with Bridge’s disappearance. For her safety, Barry reveals himself to Eddie and now together the 3 will investigate Wells. Eddie makes up some BS story about Bridge just leaving to go away with his mistress in hopes that Iris will stop investigating. Knowing Iris, she’s not buying it and this will get her in trouble.
Decision
With Barry, Joe, Eddie and Iris all onto Dr. Wells, things aren’t going to turn out well. We got a deeper look into Well’s past and we know just how dangerous he can be. as the viewer we are even getting the sense than Wells himself may even know everyone is onto him. Wells knows everything about Barry’s life. He knows who is close to him and that is an exposed weakness all on its own. We’ve got some team up episodes coming our way and I can’t wait. It’s looking like Barry is going to need all the help he can get to take down the Reverse-Flash.
